This photo was taken during a fall outing on the Copper River Delta in Cordova, Alaska. I am a self taught photographer and was captivated by the reflection of the mountains on the water. Fall colors had just changed on the Delta and the clouds were just the right puffs of white to finish it out.Time
The early evening light in the fall is the best to capture the soft golden glow. This was shot about 5 or 6 pm.Lighting
I really liked the shadows that the clouds were casting on the mountains in the background.Equipment
Nikon 7000 and I balanced my hand on the car window. No tripod.Inspiration
I love Fall, it is my favorite season, and this shot just seemed to capture all of the beauty of the Delta in one package.Editing
I did minimal processing and only adjusted the color saturation a bit to make the shot match what I was seeing. In my camera bag
I carry a small bag with only my camera and my tripod. I am an amateur, and as I learn more, I will upgrade to different lenses and filters.Feedback
My only advise is to always have your camera with you. Even if I am just heading out to run errands, you never know when a magical shot will be within your reach, better to be prepared.
