Photo was taken from south rim of Grand Canyon in state of Arizona, USA.Time
I was driving from Las Vegas and it took me 6-7 hours to reach south rim and weather was beautiful and time of day was perfect as it was almost dusk.Lighting
It was beautiful weather and there was thunder storm on north rim of Canyon and it was producing wonderful colors. Sun was shining on south rim and thunderstorm was moving towards south and I decided to click this pictureEquipment
I used Nikon D7000 with 35 mm nikkor lens without Tripod and settings were manual with iso around 100-200Inspiration
View of Grand Canyon was magical and I was confused what would be the best shot and then i observed that there is rainbow in canyon and thunderstorm on north rim and south rim where I was standing it was sunny and effect on the canyon was magical, so I tried this shot.Editing
I enhance the light using picasa.In my camera bag
My camera d7000, mephoto tripod, 70- 300 mm lens, 35 mm lens, 11-16 tokina lens, few wipes and few memory cards and extra battery.Feedback
I will say best is to observe , get used to surroundings and then start clicking the picture.
