I took this photo in Masai Mara, Kenya. I was on a safari in Kenya & Tanzania when I shot this picture.Time
This picture was taken sometime in the evening. We were returning back to our hotel after a full day of safari when I stumbled upon this bird perched on a tree nearby.Lighting
The picture was taken right before sunset and so it helped with the overall composition. I believe a lot of things like the light, angle and proximity to the subject did their bit to get this beautiful image.Equipment
I used a Canon EOS 60D and a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USMInspiration
This was our penultimate day in the Mara and was disappointed that I had not shot any great pictures of birds. But when I saw the bird through my lens, I knew I had an amazing picture.Editing
I had to perform very minimal post processing as I had the evening light assist me along with the angle and proximity to the bird.In my camera bag
Usually I carry my Canon EOS 60D, Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM and a Rokinon RO835C 8mm Ultra Wide Angle f/3.5 Fisheye LensFeedback
With bird photography, I believe you need a lot of patience and if you persist long enough, you will be glad you never gave up.
