Very evocative angle because it gives the illusion of the legs being bigger & longer which evokes hope or wishes for the viewer or as a fly on the wall observation that he could walk or run out of that wheel chair to see the people he seems to be so intensely thinking about in this very lonely moment. Very poignant portrait!
