Just a note to say the car was NOT in the original photo, having fun with layers in Photoshop, made a shadow under the car, and hopefully the car is to scale. But basically I don't think the car will be noticed much, just some added interest.

Location
The photo was taken at a private event in SW Michigan, at an estate that featured landscaped gardens, fountains and waterfalls. This was one of the featured models, and for obvious reasons she was in high demand. I felt quite fortunate to work with her for about 30 minutes.Time
This was in mid-afternoon in some pretty harsh sunlight. We moved to the shade of some large trees.Lighting
Working under trees can be a problem, with patterns of light and shade from the leaves. I move about to find full shadeEquipment
This was a Canon T3i but I feel it is not so much the equipment, as training your eye to direct posing, and careful cropping.Inspiration
The opportunity to work with a model this beautiful is enough to motivate my best effort. She was playful and fun, to put me at ease.Editing
The car was not present during the shoot, and was added as a layer using Photoshop. I used Gaussian Blur to intentionally suggest limited depth of field, and not to draw attention away from the model. Several of these images were used in my new book, (ArtiztikFoto's Vintage Showgirls, available from Blurb.com) Of course the most frequent comment, Oh was there a car in the background? I gave a lot of thought to placement of the car, and keeping it in proper scale. In my camera bag
Going on location several hundred miles from home, it is a bit stressful if you discover you have forgotten memory cards, batteries, lens cleaner, etc. I try to charge batteries and do an equipment inventory the day before a shoot, to assure I have what I need. But if there is a lot of walking involved, I try not to bring things I won't be using.Feedback
I love putting models into modified environments, in some cases to keep them safe, or to place a nude where you would not expect to see one. Unless you are a professional in the world of glamour, you might not have access to a willing nude model of this beauty, and so you might enjoy attending a paid event occasionally, featuring a few of the best. This can really give your portfolio a lift.
