My dad was a shrimper his entire life. I spent many summers on the back deck of one of these boats. Thanks for the great shot.

Location
This is a photo of a commercial shrimp boat taken on Lake Bourne, Louisiana at sunrise. I was on my way to the Biloxi Marsh to go fishing. The boat was positioned to get the rising sun in the desired spot.Time
I took this photograph at sunrise on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 6:49a,m.Lighting
Early morning, late afternoon, slightly overcast with little wind is my ideal and desired lighting. If there is fog, the more the better. Here we have a natural light from the rising sun.Equipment
Normally do I take a camera when I go fishing, but on this day I happen to have brought a Canon Rebel T# with a Tamron 70 - 300mm stabilized lens with a polarizing filter. Camera was hand held.Inspiration
I enjoy taking sunrise photos. Many days I will travel 150 miles to capture a sunrise. It always makes a shot more interesting if you can add an external element. In this case, the shrimp boat happen to be there.Editing
There was no post-processing done. This was taken as a jpeg.In my camera bag
On a normal photo shoot, my camera bag includes the following items: One Canon Rebel T3 with a Tamron 70 - 300mm lens ; Canon EOS M5 with a Tamron 18 - 400mm lens; Canon EOS M5 with a Tamron 150 - 600mm G2 lens; Canon EOS M50 Mark II with a 15 - 45mm lens; a bird spotting scope; GoPro video camera; various filters, 2 flashes, weather jackets for the cameras; extra batteries and SD cards and a Photo Journal. Separately, I bring a FotoPro carbon fiber tripod with a gimbal head, .and a pair of waders. My bag is a backpack suitcase.Feedback
In trying to capture something similar, you need to either be in the right spot at the right time, OR, plan being at the right spot at the right time. Be prepared, for you sometimes do not know what you will encounter. My favorite saying is "i would rather be lucky than good!"
