Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo while on a trip to Selsey with my geography class.

Time

I think I took this picture just after lunch (12:00 pm) because I remember having a container full of hot chip before heading towards the west side of the beach.

Lighting

This was natural lighting

Equipment

The camera I used was a Nikon D3100, the lens I used was a 18-55mm. I don't remember if I used a flash because this photo was taken a year ago.

Inspiration

Well there wasn't any inspiration, I was just walking down the beach doing some geography experiments and saw this thing, so I took a photo of it because I didn't know what it was and it looked interesting and cool.

Editing

None

In my camera bag

I usually pack my Nikon D3100 with a 18-55mm lens. Lens cleaning fluid, an lens cleaning brush, a squeezy bottle to blow off dust and lens cloth so that the picture is clear and doesn't have dirt in the shot.A USB lead so I can transfer my images to the computer. I carry an extra SD card so that I don't miss an good photo because of having no memory left.I also carry around the instructions for the camera just in case I have something wrong with my camera.

Feedback

You don't need the fanciest and the most expensive equipment to take an good photo, it is all about how you see and perceive the world.I found that starting with taking photos of textures and small thing like pebbles and letters on a keyboard, (even if it doesn't look nice as a picture) it helped me look at things in a different way to everyone else . Another thing is to not be afraid to look silly while taking the photo because when I took this photo I was squatting in front of my friends, I even put my knees in the wet stones and walked around with wet patches on my knees.
