Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was taken in my son's backyard during my grandson's birthday party. This little lady did not want her picture taken at all. I switched my lens to my 300 mm and patiently waited for her to just look up for a moment and I caught this cute smile (quite by chance)

Time

This was taken at around 3 pm outside, natural sunlight.

Lighting

All natural lighting

Equipment

This was taken with my nikon D 5200, handheld

Inspiration

I was taking photos at the birthday party and worked very hard to get a picture(with mom's permission) of this lovely little girl. It turned out well.

Editing

I only added a little frost to the edge of the photo, I didn't like the grey slide in the background. I don't do processing very often.

In my camera bag

I take my Nikon D750 all the time, when doing weddings I take 2. I have my tripod always available to me. I carry 2 zoom lenses, I carry a macro and 2 portrait lenses plus filters (been playing with long exposure) and always always always extra batteries.

Feedback

Always watch for moments, 80 percent of my shots are candid. Make sure your settings are ready for the moments. I preset my camera in manual mode for the conditions that I am in.
