Location
This was taken in the temples at Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Cambodia which is photography heaven. This man was seeking respite from the overpowering heat.Time
Early afternoon.Lighting
Due to the strong sunlight, the surroundings had a lot of shadows, but due to the monk’s light-colored top and the bleached out tree in the background, it provided a nice contrast to the black, mouldering temple.Equipment

I loved the setting for this photo with the monk and the Apsara on the left. My ey was also caught by the tree behind and the further frame of a doorway.Editing

Angkor Wat is full of photo opportunities, yet often crowded. On our first visit I got many great shots between 12 & 2 when many tourists return to their hotels for lunch. The windows and doorways of the many temples provide perfect framing, whilst the moldering stones look great in B & W. I sat for a while by this window and was eventually rewarded by the monk who allowed me to take his photo, seeking a few restful moments.
