We have some amazing sunsets here. Here the sun is setting blocked by a cloud just above the horizon.

Behind The Lens

Location

The sun disappearing behind the Stansbury mountains near the Great Salt Lake in Utah.

Time

Taken in the early fall of 2015 with my phone, I didn't have my camera that day and still able to capture this fantastic photo!

Lighting

Nature took care of lighting here.

Equipment

The camera on my phone for this. I own a D3200 and a D5300 with a Nikon kit lens 18-55mm and a Nikon 50-300mm telephoto lens. The 3200 I passed down to my sister in law recently as I found I had a difficult time taking pictures with two cameras at the same time.

Inspiration

I have always been fascinated by sunrise and sunset photography, this particular day the sunset highlighting the clouds.

Editing

No post-processing here, I am very happy with the way my pictures come out! I'm not opposed post-processing I just haven't learned how to do it myself yet.

In my camera bag

For this I was using the camera on my phone as I did not expect to use my camera that day!

Feedback

Get out early and set up to capture that shot, take as many shots as you can. The more you take lesson the chance of getting a "bad" shot. You may not keep every shot but the ones you do keep usually are spectacular!
