This photograph was taken on a mid afternoon hike in August of 2012, I had only just gotten my Canon Rebel T3i maybe 6 months before and I was just about 8 months pregnant. I had no other equipment and was just learning my camera but I was basically raised in these woods and have a insane love of the forrest. I really just wanted to capture the grand beauty of Ram Falls in hopes of having a great photograph to remember a beautiful day and very memorable summer for myself and husband.Lighting
I knew nothing about the importance of lighting or time of day planning in photographs at this point. There were a couple of unfortunate forrest fires happening at that time that is what is making he sky so hazy. I like how it did give the photograph more depth and really seperated the hills in the background.Equipment
I used my Canon Rebel T3i with a 18-55mm Lens because that was more only lens at the time. No tripod or lens hood.Inspiration
Wanting to learn and imporve my photography skills.Editing
I did a little altering with Elements 9 (I believe), I cant remember exactly what I did but i know it wasnt too much as I had a fear of over processing. In my camera bag
My beloved Canon Rebel T3i. My Canon 50 MM, Canon 75-300mm and the OG 18-55mm lens.Feedback
This was an easy capture to take no specifics I hardly knew what I was doing however I think it really stands out because it over looks a place I really love to be. I think our best photographs are taken when we are in a relaxed place focusing all of ourselves on what we love for me that's outdoors with my husband and my camera thats my happy place. For you it doesnt have to be hiking the foothills pregnant it can be walking the streets of a busy downtown or hanging out on a beach whatever relaxes but also excites the creativeness in you thats when you find yourself not only improving your skills but taking photographs that are noticed and spectacular.
