Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at our cottage in Kinmount, Ontario.

Time

My daughter and I were taking an early morning walk around the property when we found a bucket containing her icy looking glass.

Lighting

The light was all natural. I made no use of any reflectors.

Equipment

I photographed this with an HTC Desire telephone (of all things).

Inspiration

This was a purely "spur of the moment" photo. We had been talking about what different objects the ice looked like when Raili held it up and said it reminded her of a window. Instant inspiration!

Editing

As for editing, I cropped my photo and increased the contrast and decreased the saturation to make her eyes pop just that little bit more.

In my camera bag

Honestly, just my camera and my phone. I use my phone to log where I have taken my photos in case I want to go back at a different time of year. Sometimes your phone can surprise you with the photos they take as well.

Feedback

Never leave your camera too far away cause moments like this pass by in the blink of an eye. Don't be afraid to snap a photo with your phone. You don't need top of the line gear to get great photos (though it does help, lol).
