This image was taken by me this afternoon on the southern end of Van Ness Boulevard in Fresno, California. This arch is one of our landmarks. I've seen old images of it, and toyed with the idea of completely replacing the street. Instead, after converting to black-and-white (using Silver Efex Pro for part of the process after Lightroom) I removed all the telephone poles, electrical wires, etc. I left the rest of the street as it does exist today. (I also removed cars, both parked and moving.) The wet plate treatment was originally achieved in Analog Efex Pro 2, but using control points to subdue parts of it. I also modified various other aspects, including the lens blurring and bokeh. Finally, after applying the changes, and bringing it into Photoshop, I added a neutral-grey dodge-burn layer to paint it to my own taste.
