Earlier this year I visited Machu Picchu, the ancient Incan city on a mountain top near the city of Cusco in Peru. When we arrived the ruins were shrouded in clouds, leaving everything covered in moisture and drops of dew. This moss was growing on a wall in the residential area of the archaeological site; each piece gentle supporting a big balloon of water.
