I used a Broncolor strip light with a Broncolor Scoro 3200 w/s pack.Equipment
At this time I was using a Canon 1Ds MK III with a 85mm f1.2 L lens. This lens is so sharp.Inspiration
I wanted to capture the age of the gentleman and how he fits into this world.Editing
I adjust very little after the photo it taken. I always do my sharpening after I shoot the image. In my camera bag
Today I use a Hasselblad H5d-50c most of the time. I have all of the H lenses they make except the 24mm.Feedback
Think outside the box while considering your subject. Take your safe shot and then stretch yourself for something different. I'm mostly a very traditional photographer and strive for classic images but they must always have: high image quality, sharpness, color balance, the correct lens choice for subject, highlight to shadow range, and the right amount of fill light at any given time. Today I see so many photos that look like snapshots. People place their cameras on auto allowing the camera to control everything instead of the photographer controlling the camera. They need to put the camera in the manual mode and control the depth of field, the shutter speed, the ISO. Pick the correct lens for the subject. It makes a huge difference! Again, the image needs to have an area of sharpness somewhere unless it's a mood shot. Most photos I look at are not sharp! It disturbs me very much to see the lack of technical control of the camera. We all need to master the basics of photography before we go forward. Make your 35 mm format camera look like it's a large format one. Don't settle for so so.
