Location
Location Norway / Vestfold / Nevlunghavn one of the most valued places to shoot pictures, the actual place isbetween two houses on slippery and steep boulders very close to the water, and nothing to hold on to, and then some waves washing in on the boulders close to my feet. Happy when I saw the result that I showed to one of my best friends.Time
Date 29.12.2011 time 10:40:48 so almost mid day and close to next yearLighting
The best part her is that it was a lucky shoot (one in a million) and that the top of the wave reflected the sun at a little part of the wave, this picture have a back lighting to dram about, and the sunlight make it outstanding.Equipment
Kamera Nikon D300 61.8MP Croped to 9646x6406 with lens 10.0-24.0 mm f/3.5-4.5 Shutter speed 1/640 sec FStop f/42 Focal length 17mm Iso 200 No flash used. JPGInspiration
The possibility to take cool pictures of the waves and hope for action in some form, have been there before and after to see if the lighting is the way we want. Thanks for the possibility, I love this photo and it printed ones and given to a sweet lady I work with in a different part of Norway, she has it in her main living room on the wall. Fun to see that the gift was well taken care of... All the best to you and impressed what you have build up. Take care and keep safe Odd Lie oldelphiEditing
Post processing in Lightroom, only cropping , no other changes needed. Cant beet mother nature. In my camera bag
Camera house upgraded to Nikon D800E soon after this was taken, with different lenses , 70-200, 24-70, 14-24 all F2.8 gold series from Nikon, and a 105 mm macro for details and people. Spare battery and SD cards and cleaning equipment. is in my day bag, important to always have the camera ready and pre-set to take and new shoots.Feedback
Try to take pictures often and find a location , learn how light works at different parts of the day and find the day that the light is as you want, sometimes this will take some time, learn also how the sun moves on different days, try to catch the waves wit different lenses if possible and try different settings, try automatic to see what the camera things is a good start point. And set the settings to what you want to make the picture as you want, not what the camera want. Try many times and you will find that the quality are getting better and better. To all try to think it is possible to make a gold shoot and you are the maker of it.
