I took this photo on the island of kythira, greece. I found a venetian ruin while driving the island and walked around this old deserted relic when I noticed the flower growing out of this ancient building.Time
It was early afternoon.Lighting
I was shooting from a room which did not have much lighting other than the natural light coming in from a couple of windowsEquipment
This picture was shot with a canon 6d and used a 24-70mm canon L lens. I did not use a tripod or flash for this picture.Inspiration
While driving the beautiful greek island of kythira with my fiancé and friends we came upon a venetian era building that was a beautiful relic. There are many decaying buildings from this era on the island and we wanted to explore some of them. While walking through this building, I noticed this beautiful flower growing out of the back of the decaying structure and wanted to use the beautiful window to frame the flower and back of the structure.Editing
I used a little processing to help with the white balance and color. In my camera bag
I have a canon 6d camera with a 24-70 mm L lens, a 16-35 mm L lens and a 70-200 mm canon l lense.Feedback
Greece offers so many opportunities to capture similar pictures. There are so many ancient sites around Greece which are marked by brown signs and gold lettering while driving the roads. Photographers can find many places with no guards or fees to deter them from exploring these sites. I hope to take many more pictures at similar sites.
