Location
This photo was taken in Namibia Africa just after dawn. We were on a camping trip with a group of photographers and had to rise before dawn to walk from the campsite to the archway so as to get the early morning light. Being such a dry country you have to shoot early or late to get the best light otherwise the light can be rather harsh.Time
just after dawn.Lighting
The early morning light was the best and I framed the mountains in the background inside the archway to give the scene some depth.Equipment
Used a Pentax 10 D digital camera with 10 to 20 mm lens with polarising filter and a sturdy Manfrotto tripod and manual setting.Inspiration
The shape of the archway was very attractive to shoot from several angles and as a group of likeminded photographers we were their early to beat the crowds.Editing
No post processing just as was shot.In my camera bag
Apart from the Pentax K10D I usually travel with a 50 to 500mm Sigma lense, 10 to 20 mm wide angle, 28 to 50mm lense and 70 to 200 mm lense as well as a selection of filters.Feedback
Namibia is a photographers dream with an amazing variety of landscapes and wildlife.
