Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken from the bank of the Piscataqua Rver in Southern Maine.

Time

This image was captured right after the sun went behind the trees. The sun always reflects off the clouds with wonderful shades of red, yellow, and orange which is mirrored in the water.

Lighting

The lighting in this photo is a completely natural lighting.

Equipment

All I used for this was my Iphone camera. Unfortunately I didn't have my Nikon on me at the time.

Inspiration

This photo was taken while I was taking my yellow lab for a walk. We often would walk down to the water to see the sunset. However, this night provided us with the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen.

Editing

Typically photos that involve water and landscapes involve more editing. While I took this photo earlier on when I was still figuring out photography, I was able to edit it and make the colors a little more vibrant without losing the surrealness of the photo.

In my camera bag

My go to camera is a Nikon d90. Why? Because that is all I have, besides my iphone camera. The Nikon d90 is a nice camera, although as I learn more in the photography world I'd like a new one, this one gets the job done. I typically try to bring multiple lenses to allow for wide angle landscape shots, usually a 55mm, and also a macro.

Feedback

Maine is home for a lot of beautiful vibrant colors. Each season brings a new scenery which makes us photographers very happy. All along the coast there are perfect spots for taking photos. Beaches provide us with a nice wide vast photo. However sunsets from mountains during the fall allow us to capture the fall leaf colors contrasting with the sunset colors.
