The lighting is coming from the patio doors only. He is actually under a bed facing the doors which you may see in his eyes. It was a 1 in a million chance to get. I love it and have a print hanging on my wall.

Location
This low key image of my boy Thorty was taken under my bed.Time
Late afternoon.Lighting
The only light used was the available light coming through the sliding glass doors behind me. You can see the reflection in his eyes. Being under the bed, all other light was blocked.Equipment
The camera used is a Nikon D750, 70-200 2.8 lens.Inspiration
It was a hot August afternoon and he was keeping cool under the bed. I saw the light on his face and ran quickly to grab my camera. I set the camera on the ground, focused it and got it ready. He kept closing his eyes, so I hit the vertical blinds so that he would open them. When he did, I snapped the picture.Editing
I did very little adjustments in lightroom, to darken the area around his face and brighten the whites. In my camera bag
In my bag I have a Nikon D750, 50mm prime, 24-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8, 2 SB800 speedlights, a Yongnuo YN622N-TX and 2 Yongnuo YN622N transceivers. I also have a wired remote trigger and 24 eneloop pro AA batteries.Feedback
Look for the light. It was the light hitting his face that got me. Light is everything.
