This Photo was taken in my home studio in Pune indiaTime
i remember my friend who is also a model had told me last minute that she wanted to have some pics taken and had come over with a makeup artist in the afternoon and i was at that point just in a fun with light phase so i decided to shut off all extra light source and go for something i haven't tried for a whileLighting
so at this point i had three light source, i first set all at proper angles but they all had similar intensity outputs so for the fill light i had taken all except one light bulb from on of my lights and left one light source above the subject to give a nice rim light, i was going for a natural but quite mysterious look as i wanted the audience to draw their own meaning from thisEquipment
this was shot on canon 600d, 18-55mm canon lens, three photography light with soft boxes and black cloth backgroundInspiration
I have always love photographing Indian brides at their weddings as they are always dressed in all traditional cloths with sparkling jewelries and combine with the scenery and all it make you wonder what goes on behind all the glitters, so when my friend showed me what she was planing to wear for this shoot all i could think of was how possible to turn her normal traditional wear to look like its a bridal wear and try to bring out my imagination, i guess the lighting played a huge role to thisEditing
hardly any post processing was done except just to adjust the exposure a bit, when i saw this pic , i knew i didn't want to alter much of itIn my camera bag
usually my equipment's are my canon 600d which has been with me for 4 years running, my 18-55mm with a newer macro wide angle lens addon, my 40mm lens, two extra batteries, memory cards, charger and my flash, my tripod, lights and 70-300mm tamron lens only goes with me when the situation calls forFeedback
going for an Indian bride look , best thing is to experience a typical Indian wedding and observe the different modes of brides, especially when its arranged marriage, notice how the bride reacts to being placed in the spot light for hours on end like a priceless diamond at a gallery, as for the lighting, best thing is to try seal off all extra source of light before setting up your light sources and don't be scared to try get your model comfortable enough to give you the expression you are searching for. Have fun experimenting
