This image was taken in 2007 and with the building of the second road crossing this view has gone forever. I have many more similar shots but sadly only taken with a compact camera.

The comments are valued Sunset views of this bridge were always a joy....a fleeting few minutes of beauty. Sadly weather and time of view and infrequent trips to Scotland means I probably missed even better possible shots and now it is changed forever. It is possible to pick out details in background 20 Km from position of photographer.

Location
This was taken on a summer evening just at sunset from South Queensferry in Scotland. It shows the original Forth Road Bridge which has now been superceded by a second road bridge completed a few years ago so this view is no longer visible.Time
This was taken on a summer evening just at sunset....along with many other similar shots I have taken when on holiday in Scotland. 2007Lighting
The photo has NOT been edited apart from a letterbox crop.Equipment
Handheld Compact camera on max zoom. It was taken so long ago I will have to look up the original data on the image file to say which precise model as I went through quite a few compact cameras.Inspiration
I just love sunset photography especially when there is an interesting skyline featured, which this magnificent piece of civil engineering does. This was taken on a summer evening just at sunset.Editing
No post-processing apart from crop to suit the letterbox view.In my camera bag
I travel very light now....I used to have an SLR camera with interchangeable lenses and filters tripod etc but I switched to compact digital cameras when they appeared on the market. Now I mostly use a mid-range phone camera for sheer convenience.Feedback
Timing is clearly very critical for sunset as it is all over so quickly...a few minutes. Unfortunately, this view no longer exists as a second bridge alongside has altered the view totally. Albeit that 2nd Bridge is very impressive and can be photographed from the old bridge but not from where I stood at Stouth Queensferry.
