Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was one of those being in the right place at the right time photos , we were working up at my mothers house and we were taking a little break I was talking with my nephew and all of a sudden this little chipmunk just jumps up on the fence and starts watching us, good thing I always carry a camera around with me I had my point and shoot and didn't think I had too much time so I didn't fuss with the settings I just kind of grabbed it and started taking some shots and that's when he ran from the fence down into the fence post popped his head up once and so I got the shot and just kept moving a little closer to try and each time he would put his head down and then pop it back up again. It was so funny we couldn't stop laughing but I was lucky enough to be able to get this shot

Time

This was a nice sunny day in August at around 3 p.m. it was very hot that day but it was a little cloudy as well so the cloud coverage made really nice lighting,

Lighting

The lighting for this shot is all natural it was a beautiful sunny day but cloudy so it really diffuse the Sun very nicely like a giant soft box

Equipment

This wasn't taken with my normal camera this was with my Canon Powershot sx260 HS it was an F stop of 5.6, exposure time 1/50th of a second ISO 100 and it was a 55 millimeter zoomed in

Inspiration

My inspiration for this photo is like for all my photos my love of photography I have been taking photos for as long as I can remember since that first time I got my first 110 camera for Christmas as a kid I have been hooked ever since, I did take a little break from taking pictures but when digital came out and I really got bitten by the bug again, Also a big inspiration is all the beautiful pictures that I see from other photographers on ViewBug website

Editing

Almost all my photos get some sort of post processing, some more than others it all depends on what I'm looking for for that particular photo, sometimes it's just a little tweak here and there and sometimes it's more of an artistic approach

In my camera bag

Oh boy lets see there is my Canon Eos rebel XSI, with the 18-55 kit lens ,an EF-S 55-250mm (love this lens) , also a 75-300mm as well , My Flash is a Sigma EF-610 DG Super, also always have my Canon PowerShot SX260 HS ( witch is pretty impressive for a point and shoot ), and course all the little things like filters and batteries, cables and remotes and I always carry a garbage bag (for rain protection ), I have recently bought an adapter to mount my old Minolta lenses to my EOS, everything needs to be done manualy but I have been having lots of fun using them and getting some interesting shots as well.

Feedback

the best advice I think I can say would be always be looking because you never know what you're going to see. I seem to look at the world differently now that I've been taking photos, I learned to appreciate the small things that you sometimes just walk past sometimes people say why you always looking down or walking so slow and I say because I don't want to miss The beauty of the world that is around us
