Behind The Lens

Location

I made this photo in Barrie Ontario at the Ferris Lane Community Church

Time

This was made before an event so it would of been early evening.

Lighting

I made this photo and many others that day specifically to test the Nikon creative lighting system. I used the pop up flash on my camera to control 5 off camera flashes.

Equipment

I used my Nikon D7100 and the pop up flash to trigger 5 off camera Nikon flashes with blue and red gels, softboxes, and grids.

Inspiration

I was inspired by the talents of the pro wrestlers I shoot and the abilities of the Nikon DSLR system

Editing

I used Photoshop to clone out specific distractions, NIK analog effx for the look, and Lightroom to tweak the final image.

In my camera bag

Nikon D7100 and D700, Nikon SB700 and SB910, Bob and Doug (my 2 gopro hero 3+ blacks), a 24-85 Nikkor lens w macro, a 10-24 Nikkor and my trusty 50mm 1.8

Feedback

Know the people you are shooting so they trust you enough to ask for a retake. With moves like these, you want to get the shot right the first time if possible so knowing the people and the sport is key.
