Location
Taken at Woodbridge, a tiny seaside town in SE Tasmania, Australia.Time
Armed with not much more than a fishing rod, my husband and I camped by the waterfront hoping to catch a fish or two for breakfast. What I caught instead was an amazing sunrise. Thank goodness I had packed a small instamatic camera. As an absolute beginner, this shot triggered my interest in photography.Lighting
The lighting here was 100% natural.Equipment
This was taken with an old Kodak instamatic camera. No flash, no tripod, no extra lighting.Inspiration
What inspired me? The sunrise threw reflections of the clouds across the water that were mirrored exactly. It looked amazing and needed no help from me.Editing
I was lucky enough to snap this exactly as you see it. As an absolute beginner I knew nothing of editing at all. What I saw is what you see.In my camera bag
I had nothing back then. Now I have a little .... 2 DSLR Nikon’s, 2 stock lenses, a 100-400mm, and a 14mm for night shots. I have a tripod each plus a table top tripod and that’s all.Feedback
Carry a camera at all times and don’t forget that a mobile phone can also be used as a camera. This shot was taken before 6am so be pr pared to get that camera out at all times of the day and night. One never knows when a photo shoot opportunity can arise.
