This photo was taken in our home in Maui,Hawaii the day we brought my new born son home. This to me is what photography is all about!Time
Some of my best work is random shots. This was taken around 8pm the first night we brought our newborn son Ryder home. We had just given him his first bath and as she was drying him off I grabbed my camera and captured this special moment.Lighting
The way the kitchen light was shining down from above on her back lighting up her curly highlighted hair and my boys body was almost like she was protecting him from the light. It was perfect for a black and white edit.Equipment
This was shot with a canon T3i. With a 55mm lens, no flash and approximately 4-5ft away with a slight zoom.Inspiration
Just the pure love is what inspired me. Watching her bath him for the first time. Especially after losing our first child to a still birth, all she ever wanted was to be a mother and it clearly showed.Editing
This was perfect for a black and white edit because of the lighting I thought. I did just a basic edit for this particular photo.In my camera bag
To be honest I haven't had much money for a whole lot of equipment living paycheck to paycheck so I have my canon T3i body with the standard 55mm lens it comes with. Then I take a lot of my photos also on my Samsung S9 plus.Feedback
Just let your heart do the shoot and let the moments capture themselves. Meaning times like these for me needs to be raw and I don't think to much on it and just be in the moment with the target.
