I took this Picture on the beach walkway in Napier New Zealand.Time
It was about 3:30 in the afternoon in February and the sun was very hot. While you guys in the northern hemisphere were freezing. Napier City Council Along with other sponsors organize an Art Deco weekend every year. I take full advantage of the stylish costumes, cars, steam trains and special events that take place. The main event is the Gatsby picnic on the final Sunday afternoon this is when there will be up to two hundred picnic sites, all with the 1920,s style theme and a judge walks round and finds a winner - a very difficult task. This is when you get most people walking about as you see in this picture.Lighting
There are so many photographic subjects th choose from This year particular year chose parasols as a theme and tried to get the light from slightly behind so the colours come alive.Equipment
I took some sill images with from my Sony movie camera.Inspiration
The main subject and at this moment there were no modern dressed people in the frameEditing
I used the Photoshop HDR to create the original image. Then layered a black and white image so i could remove the bits i wanted in colour. In my camera bag
These days I have a Nikon D7200 and my old D80, my favorite lens is a Nikon 80 -200 f2.8 .Feedback
