I took this photo close to where I live in Ormiston, Queensland. The water lilies were out in the sunshine and the colors were so vivid.Time
It was taken in the morning while the sun was out. The lilies close when the sun goes down.Lighting
I am just an amateur and I had the macro lens on my canon 70D camera. Made sure the light was behind me.Equipment

Yes, I processed in photoshop. I used contrast, levels and darkened the background.In my camera bag
I now have several lens. I mostly use the sigma 18-300mm lens. I also have the sigma-10-20 mm wide angle lens that I like to use for landscapes.I also like to photograph birds so have the sigma 100-500 lens. Would love to own a better lens for bird photography but am just a pensioner so cost prevents me from doing this.Feedback
Just keep trying all different angles and try and get as close as you can. The tripod was not an option as the ground was not even around the water where the liliy was. Just enjoy what you are doing, read lots of books and just keep learning.
