Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photo at Cornmill meadows, Essex, UK. My friend had arranged a trip with a group of nature photographers who were interested in taking photos of dragonflies. I had just tagged along with them.Time
This was taken late morning after trudging for a long time to try to find any insects.Lighting
It was a very overcast, grey day....not condusive to shooting dragonflies!Equipment
This photo was taken on a Canon 60D with a Canon EF50mm f2.5 compact macro lens.Inspiration
I was determined to get one good shot that day as everyone in the group had very long lenses and I only had my little 50mmEditing
Very little post processing was done. The photo was cropped and brightened a little. In my camera bag
I normally carry as little as possible! I take out either my DSLR with the Canon 50mm fixed or a Canon Ef-S 117-55mm.Feedback
Wherever you go, you should carry a lens suitable for the venue. Ideally a large macro lens for insects. However, if you do not possess very expensive equipment it really does not matter. There is only one important lens and that is your eye!
