The Plaza De Toros De La Malagueta, is the largest bullring in the City of Malaga Spain. It was opened in 1876 and has a capacity of 14,000 spectators. As a spectacle bullfighting has been around in one form or another since ancient times and was popular in both ancient Greece and Rome. The Moors from North Africa overran Andalusia in AD711 and brought a more ritualistic form of bullfighting to the Iberian peninsular. This became extremely popular and developed over time to become the modern version that has remained the same since about 1726. It remains part of Spain's history and cultural tradition.
