This photo was taken at Sunset Beach in Tarpon Springs, Florida on a family vacation.Time
We had just gotten to my mothers house in Florida after a long 10 hour car ride and the kids really wanted to see the beach immediately. We drove a short distance to this little beach to watch the sunset. I was playing with my new 50mm lens while the kids walked along the waters edge looking for shells. It was a beautiful evening and the sunset was magical!Lighting
I was just experimenting with my new 50mm lens and trying different settings to see the results I could get. I wanted to really capture the beautiful yellow tones across the sky so I dropped my ISO way down to cut out some of the light coming in and was able to capture those rich colors in the sky.Equipment
I was shooting with my Nikon D3200 and 50mm 1.8 lens.Inspiration
There was a magnificent show taking place right before my eyes...how could I not try to capture it! :)Editing
I didn't do to much post processing to this image. I put it into light room and did some basic adjusting increasing the blacks a bit and brightening it up just a bit and give it some good definition in the sand. It really didn't need much done to it.In my camera bag
My bag is pretty basic as I'm still working up into my gear. I shoot with a Nikon D3200 and my 50mm most of the time.Feedback
I would just really encourage you to go out of your comfort zone and shoot in manual and RAW. Don't be afraid to play around with your settings to really learn what they do and how they can change the entire look of your picture. I took another picture in the same location and changed my white balance and got a beautiful pink and purple sky. Landscape photography is a great place to really just change settings and see the effects each one has on your final outcome.
