Location
This photo was taken in Portage Michigan, I was walking along the Celery Flats Trail and these Railroad track run paralell to the trail.Time
I was out on a walk with a group of local photographers and I was drawn in to take the pictures when I looked back and it just seemed like the rails had no end. I sat along side the tracks waiting for what I felt was the best lighting to get the desired result I wanted. This photo was taken around 4:30pm just before a storm came in.Lighting
This shot was a hand held exposure bracketed shot. I wanted to make it HDR so I needed to have multiple photos at the varying exposures to get all the detail I wanted.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon 70D and a Canon 10mm-18mm lens. with a circular polarizer.Inspiration
I loved the lines and ow the tracks just seemed to go on forever. You can see the storm coming in from the difference in the cloud cover in the sky.Editing
I took multiple exposures of this photo with the plan to turn them into an HDR image. Using Corel X7 Pro I was able to take all the images and bring out more detail in the rails and rocks. In my camera bag
When I go out on walks I always have my Canon 70D, canon 10-18mm wide angle, sigma 17-70mm, and my sigma 70-200mm. I also keep neutral density filters, graduated ND filters and polarizing filters in my bag.Feedback
Scout out locations at different times of the day and in different weather. Landscapes take alot of patience waiting for just the right combination of light and weather.
