Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken in the Wynwood section of Miami, FL. The Wynwood Walls is one of the biggest outdoor art exhibits in the United States, and this wall is part of the exhibit.Time
The Photo was taken on November 14, 2014, at 12:34pm. The day was bright and sunny, and this wall was spotted on a side street in Wynwood. The light was just right for this picture.Lighting
I wanted the image to show the 3 dimentional nature of the scene, and also to "feel" the ability to move into the cone.Equipment
I used a Sony A7r camera with a Zeiss FE 24-70mm F4.0 ZA OSS lens.Inspiration
I love to shoot the Wynwood Walls, and they change usually before Art Basel begins in December in Miami Beach, FL. The outdoor artists that develop and paint the walls are amazing, and the images they make usually are wonderful to photograph.Editing
Very little post-processing was done on this picture. I used Photoshop to "clean" the picture, and took out a bit of imperfections, but the image is exactly as seen in the photograph. In my camera bag
I normally carry a Sony A7r and a Nikon D90 as a backup. I have both Zeiss and Leica lenses that I also carry along with adaptors for both cameras. In addition, I carry additional batteries and SDHX cards, and cleaning equipment should it rain. All is in a backpack Ape Case that holds everything in placeFeedback
Most of photography is seeing the unusual and photographing what you see. It is a constant learning process, and the beauty of it is the results you get when you photograph something beautiful. Never give up...the more you take pictures, the better a photographer you become. Find what you like, and stick with it. I like landscape and architecture photography, and I try to find the right angle to us for the shot.
