Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Rushing River Provincial Park in my hometown of Kenora,ON. There was a couple of these birds flying around and I was trying hard to get one in flight but with the water close to it. After many, many shots this is the result.

Time

I took this shot early afternoon.

Lighting

The lighting was perfect for this shot. It was partly cloudy giving a bit of that blueish hue to the water.

Equipment

I used my Canon rebel T3i with a 75-200mm lens.

Inspiration

I was wandering around a local provincial park taking pictures of the rapids, trying out different iso's etc. when I came across these birds. I had to get a shot of one like this. It took many, many, many tries.

Editing

The only post processing I used on this shot is to adjust the exposure a touch.

In my camera bag

I had my camera, 2 lenses, log book, and spare batteries in my bag at the time.

Feedback

If you are wanting a shot like this patience is the key. Sometimes I spend hours waiting for the "right" shot.
