Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in the early spring in Queen Elizabeth park, Vancouver, British Columbia.

Time

This was taken mid-afternoon during one of my walkabouts.

Lighting

It was afternoon sunlight and no flash

Equipment

This was shot with an Olympus OM-D E5, using my Olympus macro 60mm lens

Inspiration

I really enjoy macro photography. I try to capture nature at its best. I also try to capture more than one element of nature interacting together. I love this photo in particular because it capured the fly resting on the flower.

Editing

I did not do any post processing with this photo. I endeavour to take shots that don't require any post processing I prefer to use a "what you see is what I shot" approach with my photography, although I will admit to sometimes doing a bit of work with Photoshop.

In my camera bag

As I use A micro 4/3 system, I actually carry my entire kit with me most of the time. I have a 60mm macro lens, a 40-150 zoom, a 17mm and a 12-50 zoom. I use the macro and the 40-150 for 90% of my shots.

Feedback

Experiment with your lenses, play with different distances and just enjoy the wonders of nature.
