Location
taken at nearby Chilton Trinity ponds (old clay pits)Time
taken around lunchtime i am disabled so all my photo's are taken from my mobility scooterLighting
as you can see it was not very good lighting very cloudy dayEquipment
to take this I used a Nikon d810 with a 300mm 2.8 lens no flashInspiration
I love birds that spend most of their time in the water waders are a favourite of mine tooEditing
I did not do any post-processing apart from crop and reduce the size by converting raw to jpeg filesIn my camera bag
I now use a Nikon d850 still use my 300mm 2.8 vr2 lens as I mostly take wildlife I keep my equipment down to this with a spare battery in my pocket with a spare memory card to cleaning cloth and blower for dustFeedback
patience and wait is the answer I have probably been to these pits 100 or more times this is the first and only time I have captured them all swimming in a row like this I guess its right time at the right place and a lot to do with luck
