My favorite aspect is the accentuation of delicate capillaries in striking detail, leading the eye back from the bottom edge of the lower petal and creating a semi-closed composition of what lies within the limited dof.

I took this photo in Los Angeles, CA. Actually in West Hollywood, CA. Which is in Los Angeles. In a city where you find so many freeways and concrete everywhere, most people would be surprised to know that many people grow roses in their yards, in their gardens, and pretty much anywhere on their property. Walking through my neighborhood I took this picture in a neighbors yard. Most of my neighbors with flowers have grown used to me stopping by and taking pics of their flowers.Time
I took this in the afternoon on a weekday.Lighting
I got really close to the rose and took the picture that was shaded at the time I took it.Equipment
I took this freehand. No tripod. I try to get in and out of my neighbor's yards so they let me come over and over again.Inspiration
OMG! I am inspired by flowers every time I walk by them. It's hard for me to walk by and not take at least one shot of a flower I am passing by.Editing
