Location
This photo was taken in Haleakala National Park in Maui Hawaii. This is appropriately 12000 feet above sea level and even in Hawaii at the height it was very cold. On our way back to our hotel we stopped to by some hoodies because we would going back in the morning to photograph sunrise from this same spot.Time
The photo was taken a little before sunset. In my photos on view bug you will see photos of the sun sinking into the clouds from this same park.Lighting
The lighting was all natural.Equipment
My gear for all my travel is Canon 5Dmark 3 or 4 with a 16-35 2.8 lens for landscape. All hand held no flash.Inspiration
Haleakala is an amazing location so you should always look around to see what could add that little something to your photo, for me it was the moon! I have many shots around this location but the moon in the photo makes it stand out.Editing

All canon, 5D 3 & 4 16-35 for wide angle and 70-200 for zoom. If I have room I will bring a monopod with feet, a 100-400 and a profoto flash.Feedback
Take your time look around. One good rule is to always check your background but rules are meant to be broken. I believe always always get your shot you can fix the background in post if needed.
