Behind The Lens

Location

This was the first photo I posted to Viewbug and was taken in my nans garden, she always has a garden full of colour and I wanted to test out my new camera properly.

Time

This photo was taken in the afternoon on a bright sunny day. My nan was pottering around in the garden and I thought this flower looked lovely in the sun

Lighting

I made sure I wasn't stood with my back to the sun so I moved round and had the sun to my left which also meant the flowers in the background were bathed in light too

Equipment

This was shot with a Nikon D5100, no flash, f/8, iso 250, 1/60sec

Inspiration

As previously mentioned, my nans garden is always full of colour as she's an accomplished gardener so it was only natural that I would take full advantage

Editing

Just a little processing in Lightroom, vibrance & the smallest amount of saturation

In my camera bag

My camera bag is always ready to go. I have my D5100 equipt with 18-55mm lens. I also have a Tamron 70-300mm, many filters (of which I don't use as much as I should), a remote trigger for sunset and landscapes

Feedback

This shot isn't very difficult to achieve at all. Just remember lighting and stand very still if not using a tripod. Also keep in mind the wind (if there is any)
