This picture was shot at Gir Forest National Park near Veraval in Junagarh district of Gujarat state of India. This wildlife sanctuary is the sole home for Asiatic Lions in the World. This beautiful lioness was taking a promenade in the shade on a hot summer afternoon in the sanctuary. The sun was really very hot and bright making proper photography a challenge, particularly from a moving safari-bus. Handheld DSLR was used with 70-300 mm telephoto zoom.
