Thank you Mary for your comment. Without a clear idea of your skill level, or the equipment you possess, it makes it difficult to work out how technical I can be with my comments. However, before I even get the camera out, I have a clear idea of the type of images I am looking for; this will reflect on the lens I use and also the settings. At the time of capture, I factor in how I will edit the images in Photoshop; also, when taking the images, I carefully consider the composition, and adjust my settings to suit - usually adjusting the aperture to give a greater, or lesser, depth-of-field, which will dictate the shutter speed I use. My ISO is generally 100 to 400.
