Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo from the front verandah of my house. We get some great storms through the summer months so I just set up my tripod and wait for the magic.

Time

I think it was about 8.30/9.30 at night.

Lighting

I love watching and taking pictures of storms. They are one of natures true wonders. Every one is different. And to capture a lightning strike like this is an achievement I'll never tire of.

Equipment

I used a canon 450D with no flash and a tripod. The lens was a EFS 18-200mm

Inspiration

To see if I could.

Editing

No I didn't. This is the shot that I took. I was very surprised how well it came out.

In my camera bag

Canon 450D. EFS 18-200mm lens. EFS 55-250mm lens. EF 50mm macro lens and a EFS 18-55mm lens

Feedback

Always use a tripod because your camera has to be very still. You have to have a long shutter speed. Anywhere from 1 minute upwards. A high ISO if it's taken at night. I'm not very experienced with camera talk so I just say learn as much about your camera as you can and then play. I love it.
