Behind The Lens

Location

My family and I were on vacation traveling around in Minnesota and my wife loves lighthouses. So, we traveled around and found a number of them. When we visited split rock lighthouse we discovered a footpath that ran down to the shoreline below the lighthouse and I couldn't resist taking a picture of it up on the top of the ridge. I am a novice photographer that happens upon really interesting picture opportunities. I don't plan the good ones, they seem to just happen.

Time

I believe it was mid day when we visited split rock

Lighting

It was a beautiful day and the water was cold on the great lakes.

Equipment

I was using a Cannon pocket digital camera. I used the automatic settings with no tripod or flash.

Inspiration

I was playing around with the layout, where the lighthouse was located in the picture. I took many pictures and later picked this one out of all I took.

Editing

No post-processing done.

In my camera bag

No, I only carry my iPhone, which takes very good pictures as well.

Feedback

Keep your eye out for any opportunity, you never know what you're going to capture.
