Location
This photo was captured in the outstanding natural beauty of the Dartmoor National Park, Devon.Time
I captured the photo at around 10am on an autumnal morning. This allowed the forest to have enough light to allow me to capture the portrait well.Lighting
I wanted the lighting to help create a mystical feel to my image. Forests are always linked to fairytales and so I wanted to portray this in my fairy like portrait. The brightness of the photo creates this supernatural feel to the model, with her face well illuminated, just like that of a fairy!Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 1100D 18-55mm lens.Inspiration
I really wanted to show the difference between nature and fashion, but at the same time how they can seamlessly fit together.Editing
After capturing the shot, I like to work my images in Photoshop to refine and define features within the shot. The most significant thing that I manipulated was colour, I increased the vibrance in the shot and this helped to accentuate the difference of colours within the photo. In my camera bag
I am quite a new photographer, so I'm just teaching myself how to use my camera at the moment, and doing so with great enjoyment. I use my standard 18-55mm lens on my camera.Feedback
The most striking thing about the image I believe is the colour contrast. The green forest contrasts with the purple dress worn by the model. My advice would be to find 2 very contrasting colours and make them the feature of your image. The juxtaposition of fashion and perfection against nature is also significant, always try to have a contrast in your image!
