Nice shot. Love the expression in her eyes. Welcome to Viewbug!

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a home studio setup.

Time

Mid-afternoon indoor shot

Lighting

Used two soft boxes, both close to the dog, one to her right and one in front-center left

Equipment

Camera: Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XSi with a Tamron 70-200 lens

Inspiration

My dog hates having a camera pointed at her, and usually runs away. I wanted a pet portrait, so my son sat her on a bar stool and held her just out of camera frame while I focused and snapped a few photos. This was the only good one before she jumped down.

Editing

I used Nik's Silver Efex Pro to enhance the details and contrast.

In my camera bag

Feedback

It was an easy standard portrait set up with the lights. I used a blue-gray canvas backdrop and to get the nice bokeh.
