Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken at whinfell Forest in the Lake District.Time
A busy day with the children reached an end as they settled I went for a walk. The forest was quiet and the sun was just being to drop.Lighting
It had been a bright sunny day and in the early evening as the sun was just dropping and the lighting was great.Equipment
I used my Nikon 750 hand held as my subject did not stay still for long. I varied lenses starting with a 300 mm as it was very cautious and I needed to keep my distance.Inspiration
It had been a while since I had seen a Red Squirrel and this one was being too cute. As well as photographing the squirrel I had a great time watching it feed and play.Editing
I would rather spend my time taking the photos than processing them and so do very little editing. In my camera bag
In my bag lives the camera with a couple of lenses. A strap and cleaning cloth. I also carry a couple of sets of earplugs as I shoot like music. A notebook and pen also come in handy.Feedback
I noticed the food and shells which indicated that it was a popular spot. I would just recommend being patient and taking a slow approach so not to spook the subject
