This photograph was taken south bank of the River Clyde in Glasgow, Scotland and forms part of Glasgow Science Centre complex. Completed in 2001 It has been closed for more than 80% of its life. It re-opened to the general public in July 2014 and i have still never been inside and to the top as it's still never been open when i have been down.Time
This was taken 5pm on a trip down to see a tall ship that had docked that day, as i was walking past the tower i looked up and thought that would be a nice picture, and after about 20 shots i managed to come home with that 1 that worked perfectLighting
Sky was touch bright looking up the tower, so added an nd4 filter to even out the light so i could capture the detail of the structure well and not have it over exposedEquipment
This was shot on Nikon D3300 18-55mm kit lens ND4 FilterInspiration
I have passed the tower so many time and never ventured over to it, my intentions was to photograph the tall ship that had docked that day beside the tower, while walking past tower i had looked up and seen a perfect opportunity to try get a nice photo the shape, the structure looked to good to pass.Editing
simple post processing was used on this, converting to mono, upping the contrast and slight shadow to get the effect i wanted from the photoIn my camera bag
As i have not long bought my first dslr in December 2014 i dont have much kit in my bag, i carry basic kit lens 18-55mm and a tamron 18-200mm with a couple of nd filters that i cant live without and my trusty tripodFeedback
don't be scared to go out and shoot anything and everything, even if you think it don't look worthwhile, you never know till you get home what you have achieved, the simple task of changing it to mono can make something dull look so nice.
