Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture in Bologna, Italy. Just at the gates of the city centre.

Time

It was at late afternoon, winter time.

Lighting

The light we can see from the picture it's the artificial light coming from the Carousel.

Equipment

This was shot on a Nikon D5200, with a 18-55mm lens. A use of a tripod was involved.

Inspiration

I am a self taught photographer, so basically every new shot is a new lesson to learn for me. I wanted to see and show on a frame the light produced by the carousel while it was dark outside.

Editing

Luckily the shot didn't need much of processing nor editing.

In my camera bag

Now I made a little upgrade to my equipment! :) The first thing I always pack is my Nikon D750, together with the 24-120 mm lens. If then I need to shot mainly portraits, I take with me my 50mm lens with has a great aperture. The tripod is basically always with me even if I have no plans for using it... you'll never know!

Feedback

There's not a particular skill needed to capture a similar shot. You just need to have a stable tripod and make a careful use of the shooting time.
