We only had one night planned at Monument Valley and when we got there it was cold, rainy and very windy. It wasn't presenting as the best photo days. Right before I called it quits I looked out and the light was just peaking through and I almost forgot to take a photo it was so beautiful.

Location
The lookout over Monument Valley, UT.Time
Minutes before sunset. The sun was setting just behind us and was just about gone. I really didn't think the light was going to hit.Lighting
When we first arrived there wasn't any lighting. A sand storm had just finished and we were being rained on. I didn't think we were going to get any good shots, but always stay until it's completely dark. When the light broke it was so beautiful I almost forgot to snap a photo.Equipment
Wide angle lens and my NikonInspiration
Monument Valley is just a beautiful place and just being there inspires me to take better photos.Editing
Only sharpness in Lightroom to clean up the edges. In my camera bag
I carry almost nothing. When I go out to shoot I comit to one camera and one lens and live in that moment. I used to carry a huge bag with everything, but always found myself second guessing every shot.Feedback
Always stay out until all the light is gone and you need a headlamp to get back to the car. Know your camera inside and out and adapt to every bit of changing light that is taking place in front of you. Most importantly get out and shoot and practice so when your finally in front of your dream location and everything is in place you can get your dream shot. Thanks for looking!
