Behind The Lens

Location

I took this shot in Dania Beach, Florida. About 2 miles inland from the coast.

Time

It was during a late night storm that came tearing through my neighborhood. I stood out in the middle of the road with my camera and an umbrella trying to catch it all.

Lighting

Being that I was near city streets it was important to keep the street lights behind me when the lightning strikes started.

Equipment

I was only using the camera on my LG smartphone.

Inspiration

I love the intensity of a good thunderstorm and wanted to capture that moment of powerful beauty.

Editing

I only enhanced this image slightly to clarify the depth and slight cropping for placement.

In my camera bag

I have, for the past two years, only had my phone camera to use. I get so excited when I manage to capture an incredible shot without having a" real" camera.

Feedback

Have patience and keep your camera ready. You never know when the perfect shot will present itself.
